Deutsche Bank cutting 18,000 jobs

Deutsche Bank has begun cutting 18,000 jobs.

CEO Christian Sewing announced Sunday the firm plans to shutter its equities trading business and slow its bond and rates trading operations.

Sewing said job cuts “have been the most difficult and painful part of our decision making” as “people and their fates are very important to us."
