Detroit gains first new auto plant in 30 years

The Motor City gained its first new automotive assembly plant since 1991.

Stellantis NV on Thursday opened a $1.6 billion assembly complex in Detroit that spans 3 million square feet. It's expected to create nearly 5,000 jobs.

The Stellantis plant is producing Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs.
