Derek Chauvin convicted of all charges in George Floyd's death

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin on Tuesday was convicted of all counts in the death of George Floyd.

Video quickly emerged after the incident in May 2020, showing Chauvin pressing his knee into Floyd's neck for more than nine minutes. Floyd's killing set off worldwide protests and renewed discussions on race in the United States.

The jury found Chauvin guilty of unintentional second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. His sentencing hearing will take place in around eight weeks.
