Virginia and New Jersey voters yesterday chose Democrats over Republicans as their governors.
Democratic Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam defeated Republican Ed Gillespie in Virginia to take over for Terry McAuliffe, also a Democrat.
In New Jersey, Democrat Phil Murphy overcame Republican Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno to succeed Republic Gov. Chris Christie.
