Democrats capture House control, GOP holds Senate

During Election Day, Democrats won control of the U.S. House of Representatives, while Republicans held the Senate.

Early Wednesday morning Democrats clinched the 218 House seats needed to take control.

Among the races in the Senate, Republican Josh Hawley defeated incumbent Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill.
