Democratic Party to present state auditor candidate

Posted online
The Democratic nominee for Missouri state auditor makes a Springfield stop this afternoon.

Susan Montee, currently the Buchanan County auditor, will be at the campaign headquarters of state Rep. Sara Lampe, D-Springfield, 1448 S. Glenstone, at 4 p.m. today.

Montee has a degree in accounting from Drury University, is a certified public accountant and earned a law degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City.

“We are excited to have Susan Montee down here for this event,” said Craig Hosmer, chairman of the Greene County Democratic Central Committee, in a news release. “It shows the importance that Greene County and southwest Missouri will have in the upcoming election.”

Montee received 70 percent of the votes in the Aug. 8 primary election, according to unofficial results from the Missouri Secretary of State’s office. She will face off against Republican candidate Sandra Thomas, who received nearly 30 percent of the vote in a tight five-way Republican race Tuesday, and Libertarian nominee Charles Baum.[[In-content Ad]]
