Democrat Sinema becomes Arizona's first female senator

Democrat Kyrsten Sinema has become the first female senator to hail from Arizona.

The Associated Press called the Senate race for Sinema on Monday night. Her opponent, Republican Martha McSally, tweeted her congratulations to Sinema.

The Senate seat is being vacated by Republican Jeff Flake.
