Democrat-Gazette buys 10 CPI newspapers

Posted online
Community Publishers Inc., which owns eight community newspapers in southwest Missouri, has sold 10 of its Arkansas operations to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

The sale does not include Missouri Color Web, CPI’s printing division in Springfield, or CPI’s newspapers in the region: Bolivar Herald-Free Press, Buffalo Reflex, Marshfield Mail, Nixa News-Enterprise, Christian County Headliner News, South County Mail, Stockton Journal and Republic Monitor.

The buyout ends a 10-year agreement made between the two companies five years ago when CPI leased its northwest Arkansas newspapers to the Democrat-Gazette.

The acquisition is expected to close Sept. 30.[[In-content Ad]]
