Demand for George Orwell's '1984' spikes

Book publisher Penguin is printing more copies of George Orwell's dystopian classic "1984" after a sudden spike in demand.

The book hit No. 1 on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning on Amazon. Other classic novels with similar themes also are booming on Amazon: "It Can't Happen Here," by Sinclair Lewis, and "Brave New World," by Aldous Huxley.

Some commentators have called Donald Trump's senior adviser Kellyanne Conway's "alternative facts" quote "Orwellian," drawing comparisons to the famous novel.

In "1984," the "Ministry of Truth" actually delivers lies.
