Delta Roofing has been in business for over 50 years. Family-owned and operated, with Jimmy Spears, President of Delta, preceding his father and leading the company, it’s the same family, company and legacy. Delta Roofing is here for the community, clients and employees.
Spears attributes Delta’s success and longevity to God and following His principles. “Dad always did what he said he would do. He put the customers first.” Treating customers with respect and dignity has been their cornerstone of success. Listening to customers and providing what they want is foundational. “Treating each project like I would treat my own is important to me,” Spears said. “Dad always said, even if it costs you and the company, you do the right thing.”
Spears further attributes Delta’s success to the employees’ shared values, like not cutting corners, building roofs that outlast the warranty, finding better ways to complete projects (think outside the box) and having a drug-free environment. Delta Roofing’s average retention rate is 12 years, with some employees staying as long 30+ years.
Spears employees told him they stay, “Because you care and don’t treat us like employees — you really listen and care. We feel valued and truly part of a team.”
Employees are taught to find high-quality, unique solutions, not just cookie-cutter approaches. “We fix problems without bogging down the client with details,” Spears said. “Even if business owners don’t know better, Delta Roofing will do the right thing for them.”
Their commitment to price has helped Delta Roofing stay strong in the community. They’re not the most expensive in the area, but not the cheapest either. Delta provides the best value to their clients, it’s about the relationship, not just the product.
“We’re not like some companies. We make it right if it’s wrong,” Spears said. If something isn’t right, let’s discuss, we want to ensure you are satisfied.” Spears has worked on roofs for 15 years, starting in high school, then moved into management. This is the only job he’s ever known, and he has the expertise to keep the company running long into the future. “I am proud of our legacy and am passionate about morales and ethics and will continue to instill those into our company.”
With a heritage of faith, family and freedom, Delta will remain in the family with Spears’s two sons: James III, who has already worked summers in roofing and is attending college for mechanical engineering, and Carson, who is in high school. Both sons will hopefully one day continue the legacy their grandfather Jim Spears Sr. and Jimmy Spears, Jr. have built. In the words of the late Jim Spears, “God Bless America and Good Day!”
