Delta Air Lines reportedly is planning to furlough 1,941 pilots in October.
In a memo viewed by Reuters, Delta Senior Vice President of Flight Operations John Laughter said the company is overstaffed.
The memo indicated Delta still has around 11,200 active pilots after conducting a voluntary early departure program.
