Defense Department issues $110M in funding to lithium, nickel miners

The U.S. Defense Department is issuing $110 million in funding to lithium and nickel miners.

Albemarle Corp., the world’s largest lithium producer, is slated to receive $90 million to support the reopening of its Kings Mountain, North Carolina, lithium mine.

Nickel miner Talon Metals is getting $20.6 million to further explore its Tamarack Intrusive Complex in Minnesota.
