DED report shows more positive job growth

The Missouri Department of Economic Development's June state jobs report has indicated positive job growth, marking the fifth consecutive month of increased job rates.

State nonfarm payroll employment increased by 3,600 jobs during the month on a seasonally-adjusted basis, according to a DED news release. The department adjusts numbers as summer job seekers look for work.

According to the release, Missouri's net job growth since January is at 26,600 jobs.

Missouri's unemployment rate was 9.1 percent in June, down from 9.3 percent in May, according to the release.

The private sector added 6,000 new jobs during the month, the release said.[[In-content Ad]]
