The state's Department of Economic Development has approved a grant to Greene County to facilitate the creation of 30 new jobs.
The $141,000 Community Development Block Grant will be used for sewer line improvements for the expansion of Advanced Circuitry Division of Litton Systems Inc.
"It's exciting for the state to partner with local and business officials to encourage economic development within the state," said Joseph L. Driskill, director of the Department of Economic Development.
Greene County Presiding Commissioner Dave Coonrod said in a release that the cooperation between the county and state will help economic development.
Missouri's development department administers the federal grant program and makes its Industrial Infrastructure Grants under the program.
Litton's Advanced Circuitry Division is part of Litton's Electronic Components and Materials Group. It manufactures multilayer circuit boards and parts used in their assembly. A release said Litton has invested "several million dollars in capital improvements to its manufacturing facility; and, in time, it projects to create hundreds of new jobs in the Springfield area."
