DED awards Humansville $500K grant

Posted online
The Missouri Department of Economic Development last week approved a $500,000 grant to help the city of Humansville meet ammonia regulations by bolstering its wastewater systems.

Funded through the state's Community Development Block Grant program, the grant will be used to replace and repair wastewater collections lines. Currently, the city's collections lines have inflow and infiltration problems, and its treatment facility does not meet the Department of Natural Resources' ammonia regulations, according to a news release.

The DED-administered CDBG program provides grants and loan funding to cities with a population under 50,000 and counties under 200,000 for public works and economic development projects.
