The company, at 4000 E. Continental Way in Partnership Industrial Center, received the credits under the Enhanced Enterprise Zone program. Zones are designated as areas that have potential to create sustainable jobs in a targeted industry.
The tax credits are in exchange for Northstar’s creation of 100 new jobs at an average wage of $30,000 and its new investment of $17 million.
Currently, the company is nearing completion of a 52,000-square-foot addition that will add space for more manufacturing equipment for industrial lead-acid batteries. According to previous SBJ coverage, the estimated cost of the project is $3 million.
