Decorize Inc., a provider of direct-sourcing solutions for the home dcor market, reported a significant improvement for its fiscal fourth quarter, which ended June 30.

According to a news release from the company, Decorize reported an operating loss of $765,000, which represents a 33 percent improvement over the $1.2 million loss reported for the previous quarter.

"Although we will not be satisfied until we achieve profitability, we continue to implement changes that have a profitable impact to the business," said Steve Crowder, president and CEO of Decorize, in the release.

"Gross margins for the quarter were higher and expenses were lower than all previous quarters. We believe that the significant improvement in operating results for the fourth quarter validate that we are making progress toward profitability," he added.

Decorize also announced a net loss of $4.4 million on revenues of $12.1 million for the fiscal year, which also ended June 30.

Decorize has served more than 2,000 small and large retail accounts, including Dillard's, Rooms To Go and Sears-The Great Indoors. Additional information about the Springfield-based company can be found online at www.decorize.com.

The company's stock, traded as DCZ on the American Stock Exchange, was valued at 65 cents a share at press time. In the last year, the stock has fluctuated between $1.56 a share and 45 cents a share.
