Debris cleanup to begin along Greene County highways

Posted online
The Missouri Department of Transportation’s debris-removal contractor on Wednesday will begin roadside cleanup along state highways in Greene County.

Shawnee Mission Tree Service of Kansas, with a $4.8 million contract with the county, has 90 days to clear tree debris left over from January’s ice storm, according to a MoDOT news release.

Crews should be on the road between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and possibly Sunday. Drivers should be prepared to slow down or stop briefly where crews are working; flaggers may be present.

Shawnee Mission will make multiple trips through the county, according to the release.
