The Springfield-Greene County Office of Emergency Management is asking people who sustained damage from recent flooding or the June 19 tornado that ripped through eastern Springfield to report residential, commercial or agricultural damage, including structural damage and damaged items within buildings.
Ryan Nicholls, director of the Office of Emergency Management, said there’s no need for property owners to file another damage report if they already filed one in June.
“We appreciate everyone who reported property damage after the June 13 flood event, and we have all those reports on file, so there’s no need to do another one,” Nicholls said in a news release.
Reports can be filed online at www.greenecountyoem.org through the end of today. A disaster hotline, (417) 829-6200, also is open until 4 p.m. for people without Internet access.
The reports will be turned over to the state and federal emergency management agencies for assessment, though the county office advises that completion of a damage report does not guarantee assistance.
