The city of Springfield still wants local input on the city's long-range strategic plan, but the deadline to take the online survey is Sunday.
The
online survey is not limited to Springfield residents, as the city wants to encourage a regional perspective for the long-range plan.
The survey asks the same four questions that will be posed to participants at the Listening Tour meetings planned with community and civic groups. The questions:
• What do you value most about Springfield?
• What would you most like to change?
• What is your vision for the year 2030?
• How can you help us get there?
The information will be used by the city's 11 planning groups as they work on long-range planning; City Manager Greg Burris and Greene County Administrator Tim Smith are in the process of selecting co-chairs for those groups, according to a city news release.
The planning groups will each cover a different topic: arts, culture and tourism; economic development; education and workforce development; early childhood development; global perspectives and diversity; growth management and land use; housing; natural environment; public health; public safety; transportation; and overall strategic coordination.
