Deadline approaching for license office bids

Posted online
The state Office of Administration last week issued a request for proposals seeking bids to manage license offices in Branson and Branson West.

Under a competitive process reformed by Gov. Jay Nixon, the Missouri Department of Revenue is required to choose office agents that present the best proposals for customer service and financial efficiency, according to a DOR news release.

According to the RFP, a bid to manage the Branson License office, located at 1447 State Highway 248, Ste. C, in Cedar Ridge Plaza, could include a new office location, but that site would have to be within Branson city limits.

Bids for the Branson West office, also known as the Lakeview office, must include a location within Stone County, preferably at least 15 miles from the license office in Crane. The Branson West office is now located at 11016 E. State Highway 76, Ste. 34, in the Claybough Plaza Mall.

Transactions at local license offices include renewing or applying for driver’s licenses or motor vehicle registration, applying for titles and paying sales taxes on vehicles and boats. During fiscal 2011, which ran July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011, the Branson License Office conducted 86,254 transactions and generated $268,986 in agent processing fees. The Lakeview License Office conducted 36,294 transactions, generating $122,073 in agent fees, the release said.

Those interested in bidding for management of the Lakeview office may tour the facility 5–6 p.m. Dec. 5. Tours of the Branson office will be available 5–6 p.m. Dec. 7.

Copies of the RFPs that bidders will use to develop their bids are available online. To review an RFP, select “guest” on the home page, click on “Open Bids By Agency,” then scroll through the list of bids until the appropriate bid is located. Additional information about the bidding process is available through the Office of Administration.
