The Ozark Mountain Gem & Mineral Society, which is governed by a board of directors and is tax-exempt, has given DCO the proceeds of the show for the last 10 years, raising more than $38,000 for DCO, according to a news release from the organization.
Admission to the show is $3.50 for adults and 50 cents for children. Admission proceeds and money from an auction that will be held at 6:15 p.m. Oct. 15 will benefit DCO. Funds from the auction are earmarked for DCO’s adult program.
Vendors will display and sell their merchandise, including gems, jewelry, minerals and fossils. Special exhibits, demonstrations and educational opportunities also are part of the event, and area Earth science teachers have been sent free passes for their students.
Tickets and additional information about the Ozark Mountain Gem & Jewelry Show are available at (417) 831-1545.
