The 11th annual Turkey Trot begins at 8 a.m. tomorrow with a shotgun start on St. Louis Street, between the Expo Center and University Plaza.
The cost to participate is $15 in advance and $20 on race day. Registration forms are available at Ridge Runner Sports, 3057 S. Fremont, on www.active.com and on the DCO Web site, www.dcoonline.com.
About 1,800 people participated last year, and officials hope to have more than 2,000 participants this year.
Awards will be given for both men and women in 14 age categories, including the Male Masters and Female Masters.
All proceeds will go to Crosslines, DCO and the Springfield Greene-County Park Board Scholarship Fund.
The event is presented by General Electric Regal-Beloit, WillowBrook Foods and Ridge Runner Sports.
DCO was founded in 1954 and serves more than 450 infants, children and adults with special developmental needs. In the last 10 years, the Turkey Trot has raised $18,900 to support DCO programs.
