Davis Properties purchases United Healthcare building

Warren Davis Properties has purchased the 65,000-square-foot building that is primarily leased by United Healthcare at 1930 W. Bennett St.

Mike Fusek of Sperry Van Ness Rankin Co., who listed the property in December for former owner New Jersey-based CS Algona Warehouse Inc., said the sale of the property on 12.4 acres closed May 4 for an undisclosed amount. It had been listed for $7.7 million. Tim Roth of Sperry Van Ness Rankin represented the buyer during the transaction, Fusek noted.

United Healthcare holds a long-term lease on roughly 45,000 square feet of the property, Fusek said.

He said he showed the property to about five different parties before Davis Properties decided to buy it.

Davis Properties officials were unavailable for comment this morning.

In the January Springfield Business Journal story "Flat office market spells investment opportunities," Fusek indicated that the New Jersey investor group decided to move on to pursue other opportunities in the Washington, D.C., area.
