Springfield-based software development company DataTrade LLC, 1341 W. Battlefield Road, Ste. 100, has formed a partnership with AG DataTech PTY LTD of Johannesburg, South Africa.
"They're going to use all of our software to start up a service bureau," said Colin McAllister, DataTrade president and chief executive officer.
McAllister noted that partnering with firms in other countries is nothing new for DataTrade, which also has partnership service centers in Argentina and the United Kingdom."
"Our software is in use in 16 countries around the world, and we have these partner relationships in probably four or five (countries)," he added.
McAllister said the South African partnership furthers DataTrade's international presence and represents significant growth for the company.
"They are not only going to be using our software in a service bureau, they're also going to resell our product, distribute our software in the country of South Africa," he added.
AG DataTech principals were in Springfield today visiting with McAllister at DataTrade's offices.
One of the principals, Andy Theron, said he found the Springfield software company by using search engines on the World Wide Web.
DataTrade, the developer of the Spoolview Suite of digital report content management software, employs 25 people in Springfield. McAllister said the company has about 800 clients worldwide, including Bank of China, Novus Discover and Phillips 66.
Its local clients include Guaranty Federal Savings Bank.
