The personal information of nearly 1,000 North Korean defectors was leaked by unknown hackers.
The South Korean Unification Ministry said the data of 997 defectors living in the South were stolen. The leak includes names, birth dates and addresses.
“The malware was planted through emails sent by an internal address,” a ministry official told reporters on condition of anonymity.
