Darr family donates to Boys & Girls Town shelter

The Darr Family Foundation has donated $10,000 to the Boys & Girls Town of Missouri to provide food and shelter for children.

The gift will support Darr Cottage, which houses the Ozarks Family Resource Center crisis emergency shelter at Boys & Girls Town's Springfield campus, according to a news release. Darr Cottage last year provided emergency shelter and care to 176 children.

The local Darr Family Foundation supports a number of organizations, particularly those that help young people and individuals in disadvantaged circumstances, the release said.

Boys & Girls Town of Missouri has campuses in St. James, St. Louis, Springfield and Columbia and assists more than 6,700 boys and girls and their families annually.
