Dallas-based Clampitt Paper Co., with 22 locations nationwide, opened a Springfield store and warehouse June 30.
General Manager Chris Shaeffer said there was a lack of paper stores in the Springfield area that offered a wide variety of products.
“There hasn’t been one that contributes to the entire graphic arts community,” Shaeffer said.
With many in the graphic arts industry having to order products online that might not arrive for several days, Shaeffer said Springfield customers can receive orders from the store the same day or the day after purchase.
With undisclosed startup costs, the store, 2335 E. Chestnut Expressway, Ste. C-100, employs six people, Shaeffer said. Clampitt Paper Co. now employs more than 250 companywide. Shaeffer declined to disclose annual revenues.
The Springfield paper merchant is designed to cater toward commercial printers, designers, graphic artists, businesses, nonprofits and individuals.
The company operates stores in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Kansas, according to its website.
