Posted online
The brother of a long-time attorney for the owners of Santa Fe’s most historic hotel has led an investment group in Dallas to purchase the more than 400-year-old property known as La Fonda on the Plaza.

The hotel, which was the terminus for the Santa Fe Trail in the 1800s, has been in operation in some form as an inn since 1607 when the Spaniards established Santa Fe as a trading village, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The purchase price was undisclosed for the property which is on the registry of Historic Hotels of America. La Fonda employs 225 and generates annual revenue of about $20.5 million.
