Dairy farmers ask for another $1B from USDA

American dairy farmers are seeking another $1 billion in subsidies from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Dairy industry group National Milk Producers Federation says the amount of money they received previously isn't enough.

Dairy farmers received about $127 million from $4.7 billion made available to farmers starting in September to combat losses related to tariffs. However, the federation says that amount makes up less than 13 percent of the industry's losses to date.
