Jeromy and Megan Rolloos began their relationship after meeting at a gym. Now, the husband-and-wife business partners see a natural next step in tapping into the fitness industry.
The couple signed on as a franchisee of Irvine, California-based Xponential Fitness LLC’s CycleBar brand.
“Our love started at the gym,” Megan Rolloos said. “We liked the inclusivity about CycleBar. The structure of the classes is such that any rider in the world can do it.”
Rolloos said they currently are negotiating a lease for over 2,200 square feet in Primrose Marketplace. They’re seeking to take over the former Dressbarn space at 3326 S. Glenstone Ave. for the indoor cycling gym.
The CycleBar franchise studio is scheduled to open in July or August, she said, following an expected investment of $400,000-$500,000.
Rolloos said CycleBar offers a variety of classes for different skill levels. They plan to offer discounts for the first few hundred members, she said, noting Xponential Fitness recommends a maximum membership load of 700-800 customers.
“If we reach that point, we would be able to open a second location,” she said.
Rolloos said she and her husband purchased the franchise rights for Springfield. Their franchise deal includes other Xponential Fitness brands, and Rolloos said she’s considering the company’s Club Pilates and YogaSix businesses for the future.
“We’ve been to the main office in Irvine. We met the CEO, the president of the company and the entire team in two days. This brand had to be in Springfield,” she said of CycleBar.
Jeromy Rolloos, who grew up in the Netherlands, and Megan Rolloos co-own home construction company Rolloos Homes LLC. They also manage rental properties via Holland Holdings LLC, according to Megan Rolloos’ LinkedIn profile.
Twenty projects totaling more than 955,000 square feet are featured.
