CVS fined $3.6M for failing to recycle

California is fining CVS $3.6 million.

An investigation by the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery, aka CalRecycle, found 81 of 848 CVS stores in the state failed to redeem deposits on bottles and cans or pay a required $100 daily fee instead.

CalRecycle spokesman Lance Klug said the fine is the largest enforcement action to date for a company failing to redeem recyclables.
