After the Ozarks Coffee Trail made its debut in 2021, the Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau has brewed up more participants for year two of its marketing program for local coffee shops.
The Ozarks Coffee Trail self-guided program allows participants to receive a commemorative ceramic coffee mug by checking in at 10 or more of the 19 participating businesses over the next year, according to a news release. Each check-in on a smartphone earns 10 points and is tracked by a four-digit code provided by each shop. Officials say there is no app to download.
This year’s tour began Oct. 7 and concludes Sept. 30, 2023, according to the release.
“We saw tremendous engagement with last year’s trail and are thrilled to bring it back for year two with new stops not only in Springfield but in our surrounding communities,” said Megan Buchbinder, Springfield CVB’s marketing director, in the release. “Even if you participated in the trail last year, it’s a fun way to visit some of the new shops on the trail or try a new beverage at an old favorite.”

• Big Mommas Coffee and Espresso Bar LLC;
• Black Lab Coffee LLC;
• Brick and Mortar Coffee;
• Classic Rock Coffee LLC;
• Copper Canyon Coffee Roasters;
• Dancing Mule Coffee Co.;
• Echelon Coffee LLC;
• Eurasia Coffee and Tea LLC;
• Green House Coffee and Affogato Bar;
• Kingdom Coffee;
• Mudhouse Coffee;
• Pretty in Pink Coffee Co.;
• Roots Coffee Bar LLC;
• Scooter’s Coffee;
• Seattle Roast Coffee;
• The Baked Bean;
• The Workshop; and
• Travellers House Coffee LLC.
Buchbinder said this year’s trail stops increased to 30 from last year’s 17, as many of the participating venues, such as Scooter’s Coffee, have multiple locations. She said the first Ozarks Coffee Trail had 2,640 sign-ups and 8,021 check-ins at the shops.
The coffee trail is modeled after the Ozarks Tap and Pour Craft Beverage Tour the CVB started in 2018 with local breweries, wineries and distilleries. Almost 20 businesses are on board for the fifth edition of the program, which launched in June and continues through May 31, 2023, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
Buchbinder said the Ozarks Tap and Pour through September has 936 sign-ups and 2,042 check-ins since its June 17 start.
CVB officials say companies that participate in the Ozark Coffee Trail program pay $500 per year, which gives them a listing in the upcoming Springfield Guide, the organization’s mobile program, and a page on its website. Buchbinder said participating companies that choose to pay $1,000 per year receive additional digital advertising options from the CVB.
