High-dollar home listings in Springfield more than doubled in May compared with April, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS data.
For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of single-family homes within city limits that have an asking price of $500,000 or more.
Listings in Springfield rose to 22, compared with 10 in April and 15 in March. It's the most amount of homes listed so far this year, after 13 made the cut in February and 10 in January.
The 22 homes listed during May have combined asking prices of $16.7 million, according to the MLS.
Leslie Horner, co-owner and broker at Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Southwest Group, said in a Springfield Business Journal CEO Roundtable last month that high-dollar homes in the area are attractive to out-of-state buyers.
"We’re seeing, and probably we’ll see more, people come in here from the coastlines that are either retiring or they’re just wanting out of that and moved back to our area and they’ve got the money to buy those high-end homes," Horner said.
Springfield event venue Belamour LLC gained new ownership; The Wok on West Bypass opened; and Hawk Barber & Shop closed on a business purchase that expanded its footprint to Ozark.
