April was the best month to date this year for high-end homes, according to data from the Southern Missouri Regional MLS.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 29 single-family properties within city limits that have an asking price of $750,000 or more. That compares with 23 in March, 19 in February and eight in January.

Combined, homeowners are seeking $30.3 million in asking prices.

The highest-priced home of the month is located at 318 S. Farm Road 193 on nearly 10 gated acres, according to the listing. The homeowner is seeking $2.8 million for the 7,405-square-foot residence.

Greater Springfield Board of Realtors data shows a $321,310 average sale price in April, a 2.7% increase from a year earlier. There were 576 total units sold, a 5.7% increase, in the GSBOR coverage area that comprises Greene, Christian and Webster counties.

According to the latest available Missouri Realtors data, the average sale price in March was $334,458 statewide, an 8.6% increase over last year. There were 6,069 units sold, a 9.3% increase from a year earlier.
