Curb Appeal: Listings in August total $10.4M

As summer nears its end, the Springfield high-end home market continues its hot streak.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 13 single-family homes within city limits that hit the market last month with asking prices of $500,000 or more. The August number was up from 12 listings in July but down from 18 in June, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS data.

The owners of the homes listed in August collectively are seeking $10.4 million. At $1.6 million, the highest-priced residence of the month was a five-bedroom home on Delmar Street near Grand Street and Glenstone Avenue.

In the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors' coverage area, the average sales price in August was $258,346. Homes were on the market for an average of 20 days, and there was 1.8 months of inventory as of August.

Statewide, the average residential property sold in July at $272,774, according to the latest data from the Missouri Realtors industry group. That's up 16.5% from July 2020.

Missouri real estate agents sold 9,158 residential properties in July, according to the industry group.
