Curb Appeal: High-end listings slow in December

Posted online

December marked the third-slowest month of 2022 for high-end home listings in the Springfield city limits, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS data.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of the single-family homes within city limits that were listed last month with asking prices of $500,000 or more. The December figure was seven, down from 14 in November and 13 in October.

The months of March and February had lower figures, with five and six listings, respectively, according to past reporting.

In December, homeowners collectively sought $4.2 million for the residences listed and qualifying for the Curb Appeal coverage in Springfield.

The highest-priced home, at $725,000, is located off South Campbell Avenue near Nixa. The listing from EXP Realty LLC is described in marketing materials as a "boutique development by Dowell Custom Homes."

The latest market statistics from the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors show 463 homes sold in Greene, Christian and Webster counties during November. That's down 35% from 709 homes sold in the same month of 2021.

Statewide, 5,689 residential properties sold in November, according to the association of Missouri Realtors. That's a nearly 29% drop from November 2021.
