Curb Appeal: High-end home listings hit record for 2023

Posted online

July had the most high-end homes listed on the market of any month of 2023 to date.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 33 single-family homes within city limits that were listed last month with asking prices of $500,000 or more. That's up from 25 in June and 28 in May.

Combined asking prices for the homes list last month came to $26.7 million, according to the Southern Missouri Regional MLS.

Five of the homes were listed above $1 million. The most expensive, at $2.4 million, is a five-bedroom residence on roughly 100 acres in far north Springfield off Highway 13.

The latest Greater Springfield Board of Realtors data show an average sale price of $313,980 in June. That's up from $299,001 in the same month of 2022.

The Missouri Realtors association reported in June that the average residential sale price rose 3.5% year over year to $317,627.
