Curb Appeal: High-dollar home listings heat up

Posted online

High-end home listings in Springfield spiked in March after a slow start to the year.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of single-family homes within city limits that have an asking price of $500,000 or more. In March, 20 listings met the criteria, up from three in February and four in January.

During 2020, the top month for high-dollar home listings was in May, when 22 residences met the criteria for Curb Appeal, according to past reporting.

The residences listed last month collectively are seeking $18.8 million. The highest priced home, located near Hickory Hills Country Club, is asking roughly $3 million.

The most recent Missouri Realtors data show that statewide, the average residential sale price was $243,948 in February. That's up 25.2% from a year earlier.

During February, 5,430 residential properties sold statewide, representing a 15.3% increase from the same month in 2020.
