The owners of high-end Queen City homes that hit the market last month are seeking a combined $13.35 million in asking prices, according to the latest data from the Southern Missouri Regional MLS.
For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 12 single-family homes within city limits that have an asking price of $750,000 or more. That compares with 28 residences that met that criteria in August and 16 in July.
Of the homes listed in September, five have asking prices above $1 million and one has an asking price north of $2 million.
The highest-priced home of the month, at nearly $2.5 million, is at 700 N. Farm Road 193 in northeast Springfield. The residence, which has five bedrooms and five bathrooms on over 4 acres, is being marketed for sale by Murney Associates, Realtors.
In September, the average sale price of homes in the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors' service area was $309,368, up from $304,588 a year earlier. There were 503 total units sold in September, a decrease from 539 in the same month of 2024.
Statewide, the Missouri Realtors association reported a 6.1% increase in the average August sale price to $339,800, according to the latest data available. The data shows 7,107 homes sold statewide in August, compared with 6,966 in the same month of 2024.
