Curb Appeal: August listings seek nearly $30M combined

Posted online

Nearly $30 million worth of high-end housing hit the market in August, according to data from the Southern Missouri Regional MLS.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 28 single-family homes within city limits that have an asking price of $750,000 or more. That compares with 16 residences that met those criteria in July.

Combined, the homeowners are seeking $29.6 million in their asking prices. Nine of the homes have asking prices exceeding $1 million, and the highest-priced listing of the month seeks nearly $2 million for a six-bedroom, six-bathroom home that's under construction in the Meadowood community just off far East Sunshine Street on South Markham Court.

The most recent Greater Springfield Board of Realtors data shows the average sale price of homes in July was $332,412, compared with $308,952 in the same month a year earlier. There were 589 units sold in GSBOR's territory during July, up from 579 last year.

The Missouri Realtors association reported an average statewide sale price in July of $346,941, an 8.4% increase year over year. The statewide data shows 7,264 homes sold in July, which compared with 6,979 in the same month of 2024.
