Posted online

April had the most high-end home listings of the year so far, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS data.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 53 single-family homes within city limits that were listed last month with asking prices of $500,000 or more. That compares with 27 in March and 29 in February.

Combined, the homes listed last month have asking prices totaling $45.6 million. Ten of the homes had asking prices exceeding $1 million, and multiple residences were under construction when listed.

A more than 7,800-square-foot house at 4156 E. Division St. had the highest price of the month, at $2.7 million. The residence has four bedrooms and six bathrooms in northeast Springfield.

The latest Greater Springfield Board of Realtors data shows an average sale price of $304,550 in March, compared with $293,315 a year earlier.

Statewide, the average sale price was $307,984 in March, according to Missouri Realtors data. That's up 5.3% from the same month last year.
