Curb Appeal: $8.8M worth of inventory listed

Nearly $9 million worth of high-end housing inventory was listed on the market in December, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS data.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of eight single-family properties within city limits that have an asking price of $750,000 or more. That compares with 12 in November and 18 in October.

Combined, the homes listed last month have asking prices of roughly $8.8 million.

The highest asking price of the month was $1.4 million for a property at 5575 S. Castlebay Drive. The residence is located in the Highland Springs development.

The latest data from the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors shows an average sale price in December of $309,829, a 3.4% increase from the same month a year earlier. There were 552 units sold last month in GSBOR's coverage area, compared with 444 in December 2024.

Statewide, the average sale price in November was $336,090, a 14.1% year-over-year increase, according to the latest Missouri Realtors data. Homes sold decreased by 0.1% to 5,480.
