High-end Springfield homes listed in May are seeking a combined $48 million, according to data from the Southern Missouri Regional MLS.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 55 single-family homes within city limits that were listed last month with asking prices of $500,000 or more. That compares with 53 in April and 27 in March.

May marked the top month of the year so far in terms of the number of homes listed in a single month that fit the Curb Appeal criteria.

Eleven of the homes listed last month have asking prices exceeding $1 million. The top-priced listing of the month, located at 2172 E. Farm Road 48, seeks $2.7 million for the nearly 7,800-square-foot residence in far north Springfield.

In May, the average sale price was $320,484 in the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors' service area, according to the organization's latest market statistics. That's up from $315,013 in May 2024. Additionally, total units sold increased to 685 from 610 year over year.

Statewide, the average sale price was $317,555 in April, according to the latest available Missouri Realtors data. That's up 4.3% from the same month last year. There were 5,495 units sold statewide in April, compared with 6,247 a year earlier.
