Curb Appeal: 29 listings hit market

Twenty-nine listings were added to Springfield's high-end housing market in February, according to data from the Southern Missouri Regional MLS.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 29 single-family homes within city limits that were listed last month with asking prices of $500,000 or more. That compares with 28 in January and nine in December.

The owners of the homes listed in February are seeking a combined $21.5 million in their asking prices.

The highest-price residence of the month is located in Highland Springs at 5614 S. Castlebay Drive. The more than 6,500-square-foot residence has a $2.26 million asking price.

The latest Greatest Springfield Board of Realtors data shows an average sale price of $293,637 in January, which is up from $267,574 in the same month of 2024. There were 340 units sold in GSBOR's service area in January, down from 352 year over year.

Statewide, the average sale price in January was $300,304, a 7.7% increase from a year earlier, according to the Missouri Realtors group. There were 4,135 homes sold statewide in January, up from 3,969 in the same month of 2024.
