Curb Appeal: 23 high-end homes listed in April

April was the best month so far this year for listings in the city's high-end home market.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 23 single-family homes within city limits that were listed last month with asking prices of $500,000 or more. That's up from 19 in March and 10 each in February and January.

The homeowners who listed properties last month are seeking a combined $16.8 million through their asking prices, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS data.

Listed at nearly $1.7 million, the highest-priced home of the month is located at 4095 E. Farm Road 165 in southeast Springfield. The 8,000-square-foot residences with four bedrooms and seven bathrooms is being marketed by Jim Hutcheson, Realtors.

The latest data from the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors show the average sale price for residences in the group's coverage area was $282,359 in April. That's a drop of 1.4% from $286,259 in the same month of 2022. Total units sold dropped to 476 in April from 640 a year earlier.

The Missouri Realtors association reported a 2.2% increase in the average residential sale price of $277,887 in March, according to the organization's latest market statistics report.
