January presented a strong start to 2025 in the local high-end housing market, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS data.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 28 single-family homes within city limits that were listed last month with asking prices of $500,000 or more. That compares with nine in December and 24 in November.

Combined, the owners of the residences listed in January are seeking $21.1 million in asking prices.

At $2.4 million, the highest-priced home of the month is located at 3957 E. Dunrobin Drive. The listing, which was posted by Keller Williams Greater Springfield, shows a nearly 7,500-square-foot home off the 16th hole in Highland Springs.

The latest data from the Greatest Springfield Board of Realtors points to an average sale price of $299,716 in December, an increase from $287,907 in the same month of 2023. During December, 444 units sold, up from 412 a year earlier.

The Missouri Realtors industry group's latest data shows a statewide average sale price of $307,606 in December, an 8.8% jump from a year earlier. The group reported 5,640 residential properties sold in December, which was up by 12% from the same month of 2023.
