Curb Appeal: 15 high-end homes listed in August

Listings filed with the Southern Missouri Regional MLS show more than $10 million worth of high-end homes came on the market in August.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 15 single-family homes within city limits that were listed last month with asking prices of $500,000 or more. The August figure is up from 13 in July but down from 26 in June.

Homeowners of the listed residences are seeking a combined $10.1 million through their asking prices.

Northeast Springfield is the site of the highest-priced home of August. Listed at $1.4 million, the residence has six bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The latest figures available from the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors show the average sale price in July was $289,643. During the month, 649 units sold, according to GSBOR.com. Those figures are down from $247,613 and 812, respectively, in July 2021.

Statewide, the average residential property sold for $295,409 in July, according to a news release from the Missouri Realtors association. Real estate agents across Missouri sold 7,876 residential properties that month.
