High-end home listings picked up in October after a few down months.
For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 14 single-family homes within city limits that hit the market last month with asking prices of $500,000 or more. The October figure was up from 11 homes listed in September, 13 in August and 12 in July.
The owners of the homes listed last month collectively are seeking $10.3 million in asking prices, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS data.
The most- expensive home of the month, at $1.5 million, is a six-bedroom residence in northeast Springfield, near Strafford.
In the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors' coverage area, the most recent data show an average sale price of $249,507 for homes sold in September. The homes that sold spent an average 18 days on the market.
Statewide, the average residential property sold for $265,715 in September, up from $237,477 a year earlier, according to the Missouri Realtors association. During the month, real estate agents sold 9,020 residential properties in Missouri.
