CU warns of scam calls

City Utilities of Springfield issued a warning about scam calls.

Customers have received phone messages indicating their electricity will be disconnected unless they pay up.

CU spokesperson Joel Alexander said the utility company is not currently disconnecting customers for nonpayment due to the coronavirus pandemic. He said that decision recently was extended until July 6.
